The majority of states allow negligent credentialing claims to be brought to court, even in those states where no statute exists. Healthcare entities and medical staff are accused of failing to protect the patient from harm. Sometimes cases are brought by physicians accusing these same defendants of treating them unfairly. All cases expose an organization to legal, financial, and reputational risk. This Webinar will explain tort requirements, outline landmark cases that have resulted in today’s credentialing processes, and focus on recent legal cases in which speaker Carol Cairns has served as an expert witness in credentialing.
